A throwback photo from 2006. This is a Classic Pens AL4 Minori (Harvest) design on the Classic Legend oversize fountain pen, released in 2006. The design is based on a watercolor painting by Jenny Lambrou illustrating a flower, a fruit and a wheat crop reminiscent of harvest time on the island of Cyprus. The decoration of the AL4 Minori combines three specialized techniques. Togidashi-maki-e which involves sprinkling gold dust between layers of urushi lacquer, this forms the background upon which the rest of the design is built. The golden wheat and the grapevines are taka maki-e, a raised artwork that adds texture to the pen. Raden, the third technique, is used to create the pearl inlay artwork of the morning glory flowers.
